Imagine Pools is a brand of Explore Industries, the Knoxville manufacturer that also owns Leisure Pools. It fits buyers who like the design range, want a warranty whose lifetime language appears in the legal document rather than only in ad copy, and are buying to stay rather than to sell. It fits less well if you need transferable coverage, or if the defect record unsettles you: the manufacturer's BBB profile shows cracking and structural complaints as its most common category, including repairs that failed in the same spot twice.
Who makes it
Start with the correction, because casual searching produces two contradictory answers here. Imagine Pools' own About page describes a privately owned, family-run company operating for over twenty years. Other sources describe it as a Leisure Pools brand. Both are partially true.
Imagine Pools is a brand, not a standalone corporate entity. The manufacturer of record is Explore Industries, headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee. BBB's profile for Explore Industries lists Imagine Pools among its alternate names, and a customer review on that profile references "dba Imagine Pools." Explore's own history page dates the Imagine Pools brand to 2015, introduced through a relationship with the distributor PoolCorp to manufacture a new range of composite fiberglass pools. So the "over twenty years" claim on the Imagine About page inherits Explore's and Leisure Pools' founding year of 2000, not Imagine's own 2015 launch.
The full Explore Industries portfolio is Leisure Pools, Imagine Pools, Aviva Pools, Evo Pools, Nexus Pools and Integra Pool Covers, plus the Ultra Pool Care Squad franchise arm. Practically, an Imagine quote and a Leisure quote come from the same manufacturer, the same Knoxville headquarters, and warranty documents built on the same template.
Imagine lists ten regional distribution centers: Knoxville, Tennessee; Dix, Illinois; Millville, New Jersey; Tucson, Arizona; Woodland, California; New Braunfels, Texas; Delta, British Columbia; Woodbridge, Ontario; Picayune, Mississippi; and Marion, South Carolina. Marion is a genuine manufacturing facility, not distribution only. Sales run through an exclusive network of independently owned dealers, and Imagine's own site explicitly disclaims that those dealers are its employees or agents. Explore claims more than 2,000 dealers and more than 100,000 installations worldwide at the parent level.

The range runs from 16 feet at the small end, the Vision, to 40 feet across several models, with the company claiming more than 40 model and size combinations.
Imagine publishes no price list, and its site language leans premium. Construction claims center on a Centurion Core structural reinforcement and Vipoxy vinyl ester resin, a non-porous gelcoat marketed to reduce algae and chemical demand, and roughly 30 minutes a week of maintenance. Those figures are the company's own and we did not find independent testing behind them.
On salt systems, Imagine's blog is unusually concrete and we verified the numbers on its own page: salt levels in most pools run 3,000 to 4,000 ppm, a salt chlorine generator costs $600 to $2,000, replacement cells run $700 to $900 with a three to seven year life, and annual maintenance is $50 to $100.
The warranty, actually read
Imagine markets a Lifetime Structural Warranty, a Lifetime Structural Osmosis Warranty and a 10-year Gelcoat Warranty. Unusually, the lifetime language holds up in the legal document. The Imagine Pools Limited Warranty states that the company "warrants the structural soundness of its Fiber-Reinforced Centurion Core and Vipoxy vinyl ester resin composite pool shell against water loss caused by defects in manufacturing workmanship and materials or osmosis for the lifetime of the Retail Purchaser of the Pool (but in no event less than 35 years from the Pool Delivery Date) so long as the Pool is owned by the Retail Purchaser." A separate clause covers the tanning ledge on the same terms.
Two practical reads follow. First, "lifetime of the retail purchaser with a 35-year floor" is a real commitment appearing in the legal instrument, which is stronger than a marketing page. Second, and less comfortable: that same "so long as the Pool is owned by the Retail Purchaser" clause makes the warranty non-transferable when you sell the house. Compare that against Thursday Pools and Barrier Reef, both of which allow one transfer.
One sourcing caveat we will not paper over. The warranty PDF did not parse cleanly during our research, so the quoted language above comes from indexed text of that same file rather than a clean read. Ask your dealer for a readable copy and confirm the clause yourself before signing.
What owners say
Read this section only after absorbing one naming problem, because search results for this brand are dominated by companies that are not the manufacturer. At least six unrelated local contractors trade under similar names, including Imagine Pool and Landscape, LLC in Frisco, Texas; Imagine Pools And Landscaping, LLC in Canton, Georgia; Imagine Pools and Waterscapes Ltd. in Vernon, British Columbia; and Imagine Pools & Spas in Houston, Texas. Each has its own BBB listing, and the Houston entity has a Birdeye page showing 3 out of 5 stars across 22 reviews. None of those reviews describe the fiberglass manufacturer, and we have excluded all of them.
The correct entity is Explore Industries. BBB rates Explore Industries at B-, the company is not BBB accredited, and BBB's record shows 10 complaints in the last three years, four closed in the last 12 months, of which seven were answered, two unanswered and one unresolved.
The strongest theme is product defects. BBB's complaint record shows six of the ten complaints describe cracking fiberglass, structural issues or manufacturing flaws, with individual instances dated to spa-ledge cracking in June 2026, corner-step cracks in November 2025 and March 2025, floor holes and splash-pad defects in March 2025, and holes recurring in the same location in September 2024 and May 2024. That last pattern, a defect returning in the same spot after a repair attempt, is the most concerning single item in the record.
Two further themes recur in that same BBB profile: warranty handling, where complainants describe the company denying coverage for manufacturing-related damage by citing exclusions or attributing the cause to outside factors, and communication, where customers report difficulty reaching support and ignored service requests. A single October 2024 complaint about unlicensed contractors leaving a job incomplete is one instance, so we are not scoring it as a theme.
No praise theme cleared our two-source bar. A Trouble Free Pool build thread for an Imagine Illusion 35 appears positive in search results, and a paraphrase of another owner records satisfaction with a 16 by 40 Illusion. Both are single unverified mentions and neither is quoted here as fact. That forum blocked our fetcher, so treat the entire forum layer as thin.
No court filings, litigation coverage or class-action activity tied to Explore Industries or Imagine Pools surfaced in our searches. A separate lawsuit involving a South Carolina installer named Indigo Pools is a different company and is excluded.
Questions to ask an Imagine Pools dealer
- The warranty runs "so long as the Pool is owned by the Retail Purchaser." Confirm in writing whether any transfer is possible when I sell.
- Am I being quoted an Imagine, a Leisure, an Aviva, a Nexus or an Evo shell? They share a manufacturer. What differs besides the mold?
- BBB's record shows repairs that failed in the same location. If a repair fails twice, what is the escalation path and who pays?
- Which distribution center or plant is my shell coming from, and how long is the lead time from that site?
- Imagine publishes lengths but not widths, depths or gallons. Give me all four for my exact model, in writing.
- You are independently owned and Imagine's site says you are not its agent. Who carries the liability if the install goes wrong?
